Their intention is not to continue with Shaman, but not to allow other musicians to use a name that rightfully belonged to the 4 of them.

In the meantime, rumours have it that Confessori will rejoin his ancient Angra colleagues, because Shaman's latest album didn't get much recognition, he had a big discussion with Bianchi and also because Angra has no drummer now that Aquiles is definitely with the band Hangar. People also point out that Confessori's aunt will probably be the new owner of the trademark Angra, since Pirani only has this name as his sole property, and is highly in debt with her. We'll wait and see how much of all these rumours are true...the lawsuits, however, are real, they can be checked online at one of Brazil's government websites.

Comment on Interview with Talking Metal's Mark Strigl

Cool interview with the great Mark Strigl.

Can't wait to hear more from you...

Comment on Interview with Talking Metal's Mark Strigl

Hey Jerred, great interview. I am so glad you enjoy my music and your review is quite flattering, I will probably save it for use in future promotional material. I have new recordings in the works, some totally new stuff and some reworking of old material, I will be sure to let you know when they are done. Feel free to email or IM me anytime.

-SC

Comment on Three E's for Edward

As opposed to being Paul Gilbert's first solo release, "Get Out of My Yard" is closer to being his tenth.

See:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_m/002-0018723-3280824?url=search-alias%3Dpopular&field-keywords=paul+gilbert

For someone getting acquainted with his work, I would recommend starting with "Burning Organ." Paul’s music is fun to listen to, even for those not particularly interested in guitar pyrotechnics. He just makes great rock albums.

Comment on John Petrucci - Jaws of Life - Suspended Animation

hi Jerred- this is a great record, and i think you gave it a real thoughtful review. ever since it came out i've been telling people to buy it in order to become familiar with JPs work without having to put up with the bombastic prog metal, epic song writing machine that is Dream Theater.. that being said, though, i am a major fan.

and as a DT and JP fan, mind you, the wait for this record seemed almost as long as Chinese Democracy! he played i think a good three or four songs the last time he did the G3 tour ('00 or '01, if i remember). and the record came out in 2005, and was definitely one of my faves from that year.

the interview with Ostronomy was really cool too.

Comment on Interview with Talking Metal's John Ostronomy

You know who truly rocks?
